Kali Massa, BS

Nutritionist

Kali is currently a nutritionist, who also works for WAYS for Life where she is the coordinator of the food pantry, volunteer, mentor and activities programs. She is from Melbourne, Florida, born and raised. Kali graduated from Melbourne High School in 2017. 


Kali graduated high school with an AA from EFSC and then received a Bachelors in Nutrition and Dietetics with a minor in Food Systems and Sustainability from UNF where she was awarded the Community Engagement Medallion Award. Following her bachelors, she spent a year as a dietetic intern with Wellness Workdays, spending 1200 hours of supervised practice in 4 concentrations: community nutrition (working with athletes with eating disorders), foodservice (working at the Foodbank of NorthEast Georgia), clinical (working with patients at Brooks Rehab facility in Jacksonville Florida), sports nutrition (working with the UNC football team in North Carolina). 


Kali plans to sit for her CDR to become a licensed Registered Dietitian and continue providing nutrition education through 1-1 counseling, as well as community education. She also aims to continue to spread awareness of food insecurity and eliminating food waste within communities and bridging the gap between food insecurity and food waste.  


Kali was the Environmental Project Leader for the UNF Food Recovery Program at the University of North Florida which recovered food from the UNF Cafe and local hospitals.  The food would have otherwise been thrown out.  She repackaged it into balanced meals, which was then delivered to local community partners and elderly individuals on the waitlist for Meals on Wheels.
